Last week I was invited by Marek Borgstedt and T&O Unternehmensberatung GmbH to the lean & green award event at DMG MORIi in Pfronten. I did not expect that this event would give me one of the most impressive company insights in the past years.
We had the opportunity to see the production facilities and the approach to the assembly of customer specific machines, sustainability, continuous improvement and digitalization.
I have seen many production facilities in my life, but this really is top notch. The company and site have more than 100 years of tradition and yet it was not only visible, but you could literally feel that the whole organization including the shop floor staff and the apprentices embraces change and support pushing the borders with innovative approaches.
Can you believe that the shop floor workers in the assembly are all capable of programming own little apps to aid them in the day-to-day operations? And of course they can order their breakfast digitally and it will be delivered in time to the social room they want. Just to mention two facts of many I learned during that day.
It is very impressive (and very rare) to see such an open-minded continuous improvement culture. Congratulations to the whole team of DMG Mori in Pfronten and a special congrats to the General Manager Reinhard Musch. It is obvious that you live this culture every minute of the day and that you have a good connection to your people.
