We live in a VUCA world. VUCA stands for Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous. This is our reality.
Strategies are long-term. So how does this fit together? Are agile reactions to the volatile changes enough and long-term strategies are obsolete? Or do we have to make a new strategy every couple of months? 🤔
In my opinion strategies are more important than ever in a volatile environment. It becomes more and more important to develop resilience and act in an agile way. A good strategy identifies the strengths and capabilities a company wants to leverage and describes the where to play and how to win.
Of course this needs to be revisited in case of disruptive changes in the (market) environment. However, in many cases we will find that the strategy holds true and just the execution needs to be adapted.
It is a bit like in sailing the seas. If you know where you want to go you will have your North Star ⭐️ to guide you. The weather may make you change course and you may not take the direct way, but you will leverage the strengths of your boat and crew to get back on track.
What do you think? Have you found your North Star 🔭? Do you need help in finding it? Book a free call with me under the link in the comments and we can assess whether I can be of help.
