<\/span>In my experience only few companies fulfill these promises. The reality in many organizations is still micromanagement and a \u201ecommand and control\u201c environment.<\/span>

<\/span>But honestly: Do you like to be told what you should do and sometimes even how you should do it? I guess not – especially if you are a leader and\/or want to be accountable for your results.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>A culture of empowerment is not easy to establish. It requires a lot of courage from leaders as they need to trust in the performance of their people.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>Especially some of the older frontline managers have been trained that they have to take the full accountability for all of the results of their teams. While this holds true, they have also been trained that mistakes are not allowed – driving them into controlling all results.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>In my experience there is no alternative to empowerment and trust, if you want high performing and motivated employees and leverage the full potential of your teams. I was rewarded with outstanding and sometimes also very surprising results.<\/span>
<\/span>
